A Welcome Message from Dean Vijendra Agarwal

On behalf of our faculty and staff welcome to the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET) at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am delighted to share in the pride and excitement each of us has in serving our science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.

CSET students are our primary focus. Not only do they have an active role in the College through the Student Advisory Board but they are supported academically through faculty advisors and the Student Advising Center, and financially through the generosity of our donors. CSET students receive about $311K in scholarship funds each year.

CSET Departments offer over fifty undergraduate and graduate majors, as well as several pre-professional programs. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing the highest quality STEM graduates for today’s professional global workforce. Research opportunities are available through Minnesota Center for Automotive Research (MnCAR), Center of Renewable Energy, the Water Resources Center and the Center for Transportation Research and Implementation.

Our programs complement not only the student learning experience, but also business, government and industry. Through internships, research and innovation we are committed to challenging, mentoring, and providing an exceptional learning experience for our students. As an example, Minnesota State Mankato Integrated Engineering Department is the first in the state to offer a project-based curriculum in engineering located on the Iron Range.

As your CSET dean, I look forward to developing and implementing strategic initiatives which will further enhance the professional education of all our STEM students. Minnesota State Mankato boasts a strong tradition of integrity, diversity, access, responsibility and excellence. The College of Science, Engineering and Technology proudly supports the University's mission with unwavering dedication.

We invite your comments. Please send them to the Assistant to the Dean.
