Research in my laboratory focuses on the population biology, evolution, and genetics of host-parasite interactions by utilizing molecular and organismal approaches in the laboratory and the field. This work encompasses two related areas: host-parasite coevolution and the genetic structure of parasite populations.
I teach a wide variety of courses within the department at all levels ranging from BIOL 105 for incoming majors to BIOL 316 and BIOL 420 for upper-level students. I receive a great deal of satisfaction from the opportunity to help Biology majors think about their career options and choose the coursework that will help them reach their personal and professional goals.
