Two alternative paths are available to our graduate students. Although the rigor of the two programs is equivalent, a completed thesis is not required for the alternate plan option.
- Thesis Plan Option - 30 graduate-level credits required
- Alternate Plan Paper Option - 34 graduate-level credits required
Required Core (11 credits)
- BIOL 601 Biometrics (2 credits)
- BIOL 602 Research Methods/Proposal (2 credits)
- BIOL 695 Graduate Seminar (1 credit; 3 Seminar credits required)
- BIOL 619 Selected Topics (2-3 credits; 4 Selected Topics credits required)
- ENVI 619 Selected Topics (3 credits) may be taken to satisfy 3 credits of the BIOL 619 requirement
Required Electives (19-23 credits)
- any 500- or 600-level Biology courses in consultation with your graduate advisor
Required Thesis or Alternate Plan Paper
- BIOL 699 Thesis (3-6 credits)
OR
- BIOL 694 APP (1-2 credits)
