Research Presentation: Deep Cognitive MIMO Radar

Friday, April 14, 2023
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Trafton Center 310

Speaker: Dr. Yadav

In this talk, we discuss an adaptive waveform design problem related to the direction finding for multiple targets using collocated cognitive multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar. A deep reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm is developed to optimize the waveforms transmitted by cognitive MIMO radar to maximize the probability of detection by making sure that the energy is directed as far as possible toward the targets and that they are tracked throughout. A comparison of the performance results of different RL algorithms and conventional approaches will be presented.
