The CS department continually reviews the curriculum to provide a comprehensive education for our students, teach industry-required skills, and supply competent computer scientists to prospective employers. This continuous examination ensures the maintenance of the high standards set by our alumni. Our curriculum goals include the following:
- Provide our students with the appropriate mathematics background
- Require our students to have a substantial amount of programming courses
- Require a capstone experience of either an internship, a senior design project, or a thesis
- Update major requirements to reflect industry needs
- Provide student access to leading edge software tools
- Use industry practitioners to advise on changes in the curriculum
