High Performance Chassis Dyno Lab

Adjacent to the Automotive Lab, the Dyno Lab has equipment used for vehicle component development and dynamic vehicle testing.

Featured in the lab is a Mustang MD-IMP-SE Single roll, eddy current chassis dyno, which allows students to test vehicles with power ratings of up to 1000 horsepower and speeds of up to 200 mph. The computer controlled dyno allows a variety of tests including horsepower, curves, vehicle simulation, quarter mile sprint, and passing acceleration.

The lab includes a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system used for instruction. In addition, the overhead monitors and portable video camera afford better viewing of lab demonstrations and act as a data acquisition system for research projects.
