Student research presentations at undergraduate conferences

Several students from the Department of Physics and Astronomy presented their research work at both the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2023 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and the Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) 2023 on Campus in April 2023.

Kirsten Rucker (left) and Meklit Shiferaw (right) presented their research work done with Dr. Analía "Yanil" Dall'Asén (Physics, faculty advisor) titled "Building an Atomic Force Microscope to Characterize Carbonaceous Meteorites" at both NCUR 2023 and URS 2023 (pictured above). They were one of the outstanding presentation recipients at URS 2023.

Jeremy Derhaag (right), Roman Faught (left), Mark Gutierrez, Spencer Schoeck and Samantha Sunnarborg presented their research work done with Dr. Dan Toma (Biology) and Dr. Andy Roberts (Physics, faculty advisor) titled “Radiation Dose Studies in Fruit Flies with 350 keV Electrons" at both NCUR 2023 (pictured above) and URS 2023. They were one of the outstanding presentation recipients at URS 2023.
