Control Volume Analysis
The first law of thermodynamics can be expanded to include control volumes. By using control volumes, thermodynamic systems which have mass moving in and out of the system can be evaluted. With this expansion of the first law of thermodynamics systems such as turbines, boilers, and compressors can be evaluated.
