The Information Systems & Technology Department offers the following programs:

The major in Information Systems (iSYS) is designed so that about two-thirds of the major work taken by a student is in courses in information systems basics as well as topics such as information security, information warfare, software testing, and human-computer interaction. The remaining one-third of the major courses are in business enterprise concepts such as accounting, finance, business law, management, and enterprise resource planning.

The major in Information Technology (IT) is designed to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to take on professional positions in Information Technology upon graduation and to grow into leadership positions or to pursue research or graduate studies in the field. Three areas of specialization are available:

  • Database Technologies
  • Networking and Information Security
  • Software Development

Both majors are designed so that graduates will

  • develop effective oral and written communication skills
  • understand the social and ethical issues of the field
  • gain real-world experience via a practical training internship
