The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has hosted the Minnesota State University High School Mathematics Contest each year starting in the spring of 1974. This year will be our 44 th consecutive annual Contest. The contest consists of a 30 question multiple choice exam that cover topics and problems that one might find in a high school mathematics course, excluding calculus, to more challenging problems whose solutions might be unfamiliar to most students that require a degree of creativity. Awards are given to the overall top three performers, the top three teams, and each of the top performers in 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade. A school team consists of 5 members from the school. A team score is the sum the individual scores of the team members. Math Contest t-shirts will be given to all participants. A short awards ceremony after the Contest recognizes all students receiving awards. The Contest is designed so that participating schools can arrive back at their schools by the end of the school day.
This year's Contest is Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Please click on Math Contest Flyer to find more information about the Contest. Please join us at this year's Contest.
