The MAX Scholarship Program is a comprehensive scholarship program funded by the National Science Foundation to provide a Mentored Academic EXperience for success in biology, computer science, engineering and mathematics at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Twenty three scholarships of $5000 will be awarded annually. To qualify, students must be a declared major in Biology, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, demonstrate financial need using the FAFSA process, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented students in these departments including women, non-traditional students and students who have attended or are attending a community college and planning to transfer to MSU.

Scholars can renew their $5,000 individual scholarships for up to three years. In addition, the program will include career planning workshops, seminars by industry partners, opportunities to put theory into practice in industrial settings, and professional development opportunities.
