MAX Scholarship Program

Rebecca Bates, Marilyn Hart, Deborah Nykanen and Mezbahur Rahman are the principal investigators of the National Science Foundation grant supporting the MAX Scholarship Program. 

Rebecca Bates teaches in the Computer & Information Sciences department and Electrical & Computer Engineering & Technology department.  Her research areas include speech recognition and understanding and engineering education.  Her homepage is bates.cs.mnsu.edu.

Marilyn Hart teaches in the Biological Sciences department.  Her research area is cell biology with the goal of understanding how actin filaments are attached to Z-lines and how defects in this attachment can affect the structure and function of the heart. Deborah Nykanen teaches in the Mechanical and Civil Engineering department.  Her research examines the prediction of water and energy cycles and the relationship between rainfall and soil moisture.  Her homepage is mavdisk.mnsu.edu/nykand.
