MAX Scholarship Program

MAX Scholars must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 when applying for the scholarship.  Scholars will be selected based on many factors which include declared major, financial need, GPA, and diversity of the student cohort.  Underrepresented students and students transferring from two-year colleges are especially encouraged to apply.  Applicants must be eligible for federally subsidized financial assistance as indicated through the FAFSA process.

Eligible majors include:

  • Biology (except for the Medical Technology and Cytotechnology programs)
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science and Information Technology (Computer Information Science)
  • All engineering programs
  • All engineering technology programs

MAX Scholar responsibilities include:

  • Attending weekly seminars
  • Maintaining semester GPAs of 3.0 after entering the MAX Scholar program
  • Maintaining full-time status (taking at least 12 credits)
  • Remaining in one of the program majors
  • Participating in mentored research or industry experience
