  1. Students may, with persmission from their advisor, elect to substitute Technical Communication, ENG 271, or SPEECH 102.
  2. This course may be substituted by ME 241 Thermal Dynamics.
  3. The science elective must be selected from the approved list which would complement the student's area of interest in civil engineering.
  4. The technical elective must be selected from the approved list which would enhance the student's experience in civil engineering.
  5. The sum of Science, Technical and CIVE electivs must be a minimum of 16 credits: science elective (min. 4 credits), technical electives (min. 2 credits), and CIVE elective (min. 9 credits).
  6. These courses may be taken earlier in the program in consultation with the student's advisor.

**H/SS courses may be chosen to satisfy the university cultural diversity requirements simultaneously with the program H/SS requirements. Each student should discuss the selection of courses to meet this requirement with his/her civil engineering advisor early in their academic career.

Approved Science Electives and Technical Electives courses are listed under Graduation Requirements.
