Vibration LabEngine Test Cells Laboratory

The Engine Test Cells Laboratory can accommodate up to three separate engine testing setups. It has three test plates, three underground fuel tanks, each with 500 gallons capacity and computerized storage system, and a separate ventilation system with computerized control. Equipment includes a GE 150 hp DC motoring dynamometer, Stuska 450 hp water brake, and a 90 hp water brake. Currently a 2.5 liter in-line four engine is being installed for testing on an electric dynamometer. A Yanmar 900 cc three-cylinder Diesel engine equipped with a cylinder pressure sensor is being tested on 90 hp brake.

All signals and control can be performed from separate control room. Computerized data acquisition system aids in testing.
