Mr. Chad Surprenant, P.E.Mr. Chad Surprenant is President of I&S Engineers & Architects, Incorporated, a forty-person firm in Mankato. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 1993 and is a registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota.
Since Chad joined I&S, the company has more than quadrupled in size and earnings. Chad is the head of the Civil Engineering group at I&S and serves as the City Engineer for the Cities of Madison Lake and Waterville. Land development is the primary focus of Chad's practice. Chad and his staff have designed dozens of urban subdivisions, rural drainage projects, urban storm water management projects, and retail/commercial/industrial developments throughout the region.
Chad Surprenant has held various officer positions with the local chapter of the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the City Engineers Association of Minnesota.
Chad Surprenant volunteers his time to the chapter and affiliate boards of the local Habitat for Humanity. He is also a board member for the Riverbend Center for Enterprise Facilitation, a non-profit organization providing resources and advice to existing businesses encountering change and entrepreneurs beginning new ventures. Chad serves on the Minnesota State University, Mankato's Civil Engineering Advisory Board since the Program's inception.
