Mr. Peter KjeerMr. Peter Kjeer designs motors, propellers and controls for Minn Kota motors as a mechanical engineer at Johnson Outdoors. He graduated from MSU-Mankato in 1993 and has now returned to teach in the Mechanical & Civil Engineering Department as an adjunct faculty.
Immediately following graduation, Pete entered the engineering field designing generators for Kato Engineering. During his time with this firm, he received one of his two patents for a new dynamo-electric machine design.
Pete has presented at many conferences, his most recent for a new electric primary propulsion motor. He specializes in finite element analysis, design, and project management.
Pete is currently on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Mechanical Engineering program, linking the university with local industries to improve education for future engineers. Pete also teaches Physics at Bethany Lutheran College, and enjoys bringing his experience as an engineer into the classroom.
