Dr. W. James Wilde, P.E., joined the Civil Engineering faculty at MSU in January 2003. He earned his Ph.D. in civil engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 1998, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota and Utah. Before joining MSU, Dr. Wilde was a project manager at the Transtec Group, Inc., in Austin, Texas for over seven years, where he conducted pavement and concrete research; performed pavement design and forensics projects; developed and taught workshops and short courses for the Federal Highway Administration and for the University of Texas at Austin; and conducted plan and specification reviews for clients around the United States. He is currently a member of the ASCE Airfield Pavements Committee, the Transportation Research Board's Committee on Utilities, and the American Concrete Institute's Concrete Pavement Committee. His interests include pavement design and analysis, concrete durability, and pavement-related research implementation.
