Spring Observing Season

April 2017:

The Department of Physics and Astronomy will hold a public viewing night at Andreas Observatory  on the evening of Friday April 21st, 2017. The observatory will be open from 9 PM to 11 PM, weather permitting.

Visitors to Andreas Observatory will have a chance to look through one of the largest telescopes in Minnesota, and view Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System, as well as other celestial objects including star clusters, double stars and nebulae.

All visitors  should park at the south end of Lot 1 and WALK to the observatory – a distance of about 600 yards. Any inquiries for further information should be directed to Dr. Paul Eskridge at 507-389-1840 or paul.eskridge@mnsu.edu.

Dr. Paul Eskridge has been presented with the MSU Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award.

Fall Observing Season

September 2016:
The 2016 fall observing season at Standeford Observatory runs from September 6 to November 22. Public evenings will be held on Thursdays at Standeford. read more
