Science Teaching

There is no Science Teaching degree in Astronomy, but astronomy coursework is included in the curricula of all Science Teaching majors – particularly in the Earth Science Teaching program. The Minnesota Board of Teaching requires that students satisfy a number of astronomy-related competencies in order to meet the requirements for licensure. Students accomplish this by taking the appropriate astronomy and geology (earth science) courses.

The following links provide information on these astronomy-related competencies and the courses that cover them.
