B.S. Minnesota State University, Mankato (Ecology & Environmental Science) 1999
Scott worked from 1999 through 2004 for Sibley SWCD in Gaylord, MN on watershed assessment projects as part of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Clean Water Partnership program. These projects involved stream monitoring and determining the sources of water pollution in the High Island Creek and Rush River Watersheds.
Scott joined the Water Resources Center in 2004 and currently coordinates many of the water quality monitoring projects and assists other agencies’ programs. Scott’s primary focus is on the Minnesota River Monitoring Program, a project that accesses the water quality condition of the Minnesota River, Blue Earth River, Le Sueur River and several smaller tributaries. Scott also coordinates smaller scale research projects, such as monitoring of tile drainage from agricultural lands to access best management practices for manure and fertilizer application.
