Clean Air, Clean Water, Clean Earth

STEM Meets Ag, Food and Natural Resources Academy

The academy includes hands-on sessions, faculty and industry presenters, local tours, and a final Shark-Tank student presentation by students. The week-long project consists of teams of students creating a green screen presentation on the Flipgrid platform related to water and agriculture while taking the role(s) of a(n) reporter, interviewer, explorer, investigator, producer, and/or actor within their presentation. Local tours will be to Hiniker Pond, Spring Lake Park, Minneopa State Park, and the Alternative Roots Farm.

  • Theme: Clean Air, Clear Water, Clean Earth (with a focus on agriculture and weather)
  • 6th-9th Grade
  • Cost: $250

Registration Deadline is June 13th.

*Five - $50 financial need scholarships are being sponsored by the Minnesota State Southern Agricultural Center of Excellence.

Explore STEM Academy

The academy includes hands-on sessions, faculty and industry presenters, local tours (including a water treatment plant, a water recovery resources facility, and Bolton & Menk), a final Shark-Tank style presentation by students. The week-long project consists of teams of students designing a water filtration system by asking, imagining, planning, and creating. Students will learn the importance of clean water and water conservation.

  • 6th-9th Grade
  • Cost: $250

Explore Engineering Academy

The academy includes hands-on sessions, faculty and industry presenters, local tours (including an electric bike dealer, tentatively 3M in New Ulm and an EV Dealer), and a final Shark-Tank style presentation by students. The week-long project consists of teams of students designing their own energy source to power a transportation device. Participants will learn the importance of sustainable energy and utlizing this energy in everyday tasks.

  • 6th-9th Grade
  • Cost: $250
