Student Design Projects

Most Manufacturing Engineering Technology Student Projects are industry based. Students work with industrial firms to solve real-world problems in a wide area of industrial concerns, including:

  • Lean production improvement
  • Quality
  • Product design
  • 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing
  • Product testing
  • Process design and improvement
  • Inventory control
  • Facility layout
  • Automation and robotics
  • Logistics and transportation

Each student is required to complete a capstone design project, often working with a team. In addition, some students gain experience working as interns for local industries.
