Electrical And Computer Engineering & Technology Scholarships

Bob and Marsha Qualset Electrical Engineering Scholarship

Up to $1500 may be given to one electrical engineering major who meets the following criteria:

1. Must have officially applied for and been accepted in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology,
2. Must be accepted as a major in Electrical Engineering
3. Must have an excellent academic record
4. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills
5. Must demonstrate leadership on campus
6. Preference will be given to students from rural communities

Electrical and Computer Engineering and Technology Department Scholarship

Three awards of $1000 are available.

Forrest Nelson Electrical Engineering Scholarship

Two awards of $750 will be given. To qualify, a student must be a junior, admitted and enrolled in Electrical Engineering (permitted into third year, 300-level courses). Students choosing a power engineering option will have preference when this option becomes available.

John P. and John R. Habinger Electrical Engineering Scholarship

One award of $500 may be given. To qualify, a student must be a junior, admitted and enrolled in electrical engineering (permitted into third year, 300-level courses).

Rudy and Leone Salfer Electrical Engineering Scholarship

Up to four awards of $1000 will be given to EE or EET majors who have completed at least 45 quarter or 32 semester hours of college courses, of which at least half must be in science, math, engineering, or engineering technology. Scholarship is the primary criterion, but letters of recommendation regarding leadership, career potential and work ethic will also be considered.

Thin Film Technology/Mankato Area Foundation Scholarship

One award of $2000 will be given to a senior with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Two awards of $1000 will be given to a senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Four awards of $500 will be given to a junior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidates must be a declared major in either computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering technology, computer engineering technology, electronic engineering technology, manufacturing engineering technology, chemistry, mathematics or physics.

Recipients are selected by the Dean's Scholarship Review Committee.

Hickory Tech Foundation for ECET Students

Up to five awards of $1000 are available for students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students with high extracurricular experiences are preferred. Preferred majors include EE, CET, EET.

Kato Engineering Scholarship

One award of $5000 will be given. To qualify, a student must be entering their junior year (having completed at least 64 semester credit hours) in electrical engineering, have a cumulative GPA greater than 2.5, and 3.0 or higher in their major.

Important note: The recipient of this scholarship will have specific employment obligations.
