Current Research/Interests
My research interests are broadly described as Applied Nuclear Science. The work is built on the use of nuclear particle accelerators, with applications in:
- radioisotope production
- high mass sensitivity ion beam analysis
- radiation interactions with materials
- fundamental nuclear physics
Past and current projects include the production of radiolabeled compounds suitable for in vivo studies of physiological processes, primarily with positron emission tomography (PET). Projects are run at MSU on our newly revitalized 400 keV proton/deuteron accelerator, with further applications to higher energy accelerators.
