Multi-wavelength astrophysics in the lab and classroom
I will present results from my recent sabbatical which focused on astrophysical research in galaxy evolution and curriculum development. I will discuss sponsored research efforts completed as visitor in the US (Arizona State University, University of Colorado), India (Inter-university Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Tezpur University), Chile (Pontificia Universidad Catolica-Valparaiso), and Philippines (University San Carlos, Mindanao State University) using NASA/ESA/NRAO/NOIRLab/ISRO ground- and space-based observations in the analysis of LyC-leaking galaxies and massive, quiescent galaxy evolution.
I will briefly highlight multiple, high-impact submitted/published manuscripts and sponsored research during this term. I will also discuss efforts to develop new astronomy coursework with the Andreas Observatory in conjunction with the Philippines Space Agency, a result of which was the development of the first indigenous Filipino high school to PhD astrophysics pipeline. I will also discuss various service and outreach highlights performed during the sabbatical.
