Recent Program Features

I am grateful for all the support from the department and thanks to the professors with whom I made strong connections in their courses.

Their teachings and character will forever impact my future.  

My degree has taught me how to be an effective and purposeful communicator. Learning how to communicate with people by taking into consideration their different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds has helped me indefinitely throughout my career and my relationships. 

Philip was also the student graduation speaker for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2022.

"The Communication Studies Department comprises a dedicated team of faculty and staff who work cohesively to support the learning goals of students. The program is rich and diverse in terms of the courses offered. One of my favorite courses is Advanced Public Communication. Since taking this course, I have grown leaps and bounds in my ability to present to public audiences of various sizes. Overall, my curricular and extra-curricular activities have been varied and diverse."
