Bio

My name is Katie Scherf, and I am an engineer working as a facilitator for the Iron Range Engineering (IRE) Program. Being a facilitator is immensely rewarding for me as it allows me to forge connections with students and witness their growth as they navigate through their engineering education and venture into the industry. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I grew up and still live on the Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota, this location holds a special place in my heart and I consider it my home. Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in diverse activities such as spending quality time with my family out on the lake, immersing myself in books, indulging in podcasts, long walks with my red lab, Murphy, and expressing my creativity through painting.
