Welcome Partners
Dear Industry Partners,
Welcome to the Center for Transportation and Smart Infrastructure (CTSI) at Minnesota State University, Mankato. CTSI is designed to help industry, public agencies, and researchers work together to accelerate transportation innovation and turn emerging ideas into deployable, real‑world solutions.
Our purpose is to advance Minnesota’s transportation and infrastructure systems by bridging public‑sector needs with private‑sector expertise. As a neutral, university‑based innovation hub, CTSI provides a trusted environment to collaborate, test, and evaluate technologies without commercial or procurement constraints. Our work is closely aligned with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) priorities, ensuring a clear pathway from pilot projects to implementation.
CTSI specializes in applied research, field demonstrations, and data‑driven decision support. Our focus areas include smart and connected transportation, infrastructure resilience and asset management, transportation safety, sustainable and equitable mobility, and advanced data analytics and AI.
By partnering with CTSI, industry gains early insight into public‑sector challenges, reduced risk for testing and deployment, university‑validated performance, and direct access to a highly skilled pipeline of future transportation professionals.
We do not just study transportation challenges—we help solve them. I invite you to explore how CTSI can support your innovation goals and help shape the future of transportation in Minnesota and beyond.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mohamed Diab
