Vehicle enthusiasts have been pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Engineering Technology at Minnesota State University, Mankato since 1988. AET students also receive a minor in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

Student Design Projects

Students are involved in the hands-on applications of new technologies. The AET Program has a long tradition of participation in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Student Design Competitions including Formula SAE, SAE Mini Baja, and the SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge series.

Curriculum Planning

Students study the design, development and testing of vehicles including cars, trucks, heavy duty trucks, agriculture equipment, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and various industrial power plants. This is NOT your Dad's auto shop class!

BS AET program has defined academic policies which help the students follow the coursework and graduate in 4 years.

Accreditation

The Automotive Engineering Technology program at Minnesota State University, Mankato is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Applied Research

AET Program provides unique opportunities to students to pursue research during their undergraduate degree.

Student Opportunities

Students in AET Program can apply to multiple scholarships, on and off campus jobs and other positions to support their undergraduate program.

Internships

Although not required, internships are a valuable part of your education. Employers often hire the students they hire as interns. Students gain knowledge and experience necessary to begin their career.
