Dr. Katner teaches a variety of biochemistry courses including the Biochemistry of Cancer and Therapeutics elective.

Dr. Katner's research focuses on investigating proteoglycan-targeted therapies and regulation of glypicans in both hepatocellular carcinoma and glioblastoma cells (liver and brain cancers respectively). Undergraduates in the Katner lab regularly present their work at local and national meetings such as American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
