About CTRI
Through applied research, implementation, and timely transfer of technologies, CTRI aims to bridge the gap between research and practice and to serve as a resource of training, education, and professional development for the students and professionals in the transportation industry, both locally and nationally.
The center was revitalized in 2020 in response to the great need for innovation and implementation of research products in the areas of transportation, highway construction, and materials. CTRI’s primary objective is to serve as an applied research agent, primarily for state and local transportation professionals, focused on improving the pipeline for moving transportation research results into the hands of transportation professionals.
CTRI is a resource for training and continuing professional development within the transportation community—both locally and nationally, and engages civil engineering students in innovative research, implementation, and technology transfer activities. CTRI collaborates with communities, industry professionals, researchers, and students in the advancement of transportation while balancing societal needs and impacts on the environment.
