Civil engineers design and supervise the construction of roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply, water and wastewater treatment, and many other systems.
Internships for students who are in the civil engineering program, with different companies all around Minnesota as well as the United States. Renowned companies all around are there to hire students for their companies.
There are many opportunities for undergraduate research with faculty members in the civil engingeering program. In some cases, student researchers are able to write academic papers with their faculty mentor, and travel to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.
The Civil Engineering Advisory Board is comprised of members from public and private organizations. The board provides essential advice and counsel to the department chair, faculty and the Dean of the college.
