Admission to Program

Once you have been accepted as a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato and completed your required general courses as outlined by the department, you may apply to the program as a full-standing standing student. Please see requirements below.

Civil Engineering

Admission to the Civil Engineering Program is granted by the department, and is necessary before enrolling in 300- and 400-level courses. Near the end of the sophomore year, students submit an application for admission to the civil engineering program. Applications to the program may be obtained from the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering or downloaded in PDF format.

Mechanical Engineering

In order for a student to be able to enroll in upper-division (300–and 400–level) mechanical engineering classes, the student needs to be accepted into the ME program. During the sophomore year, students should submit an application for admission to the mechanical engineering program. Applications to the program may be obtained from the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering or downloaded in PDF format.
