Ending Your Internship
Getting Credit for your Internship
In order to receive a passing grade for internship you will need to complete the following tasks at the end of the semester in which you are enrolled.
- Complete the Internship Exit Survey. Details, including due dates, will be posted on D2L.
- Provide verification of the number of hours worked. This may be one of the following:
a copy of your last paycheck (pay stub), or;
a letter on company letterhead from your supervisor clearly stating the number of hours worked, or;
a letter on company letterhead from your Human Resources representative clearly stating the number of hours worked.
The verification of hours worked can be a scanned image (.jpg, .gif) or a PDF document. Submit it as a separate file in the ‘Internship Completion’ dropbox folder in the D2L. The name of the file must be ‘yourFirstLastNameVerification.ext’, where .ext is the actual extension of the file (.jpg, .gif, or .pdf). - Write the Internship Summary Report. You must follow the detailed specs that will be posted on D2L. Submit this as a Word document in the ‘Internship Completion’ dropbox folder in the D2L. The name of this file must be 'yourFirstLastNameReport.docx’.
Late Submissions
All items must be submitted by the due date as specified on D2L. Failure to provide items by the due date will result in a grade of IP (meaning In-Progress). Some students will not be able to turn in their exit materials by this deadline, usually because the final day of employment is after exam week. Late submissions require an approved extension on D2L and will result in an IP (in progress) on your transcript until the documents can be reviewed. This may be after the grade reports are distributed.
