Curriculum Planning
The Mechanical Engineering program does not follow the university's general education requirements explicitly. Rather, students must choose from courses listed in the General Education Approved Course list, linked below.
The program revises and updates this list approximately every two years.

Application
In order for a student to be able to enroll in upper-division (300–and 400–level) mechanical engineering classes, the student needs to be accepted into the ME program. During the sophomore year, students should submit an application for admission to the mechanical engineering program.
FE Exam
Taking FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam is a requirement for graduation. Passing FE gives the graduates an EIT (Engineer in Training) designation and the graduates are on the path to obtaining their PE (Professional Engineer)license.
