Dr. Land's Research Projects

In the Land Lab, we use Molecular Biology to ask questions about Cancer Mutagenesis, Host-Pathogen Interactions, Innate Immunity, and Autoimmune disease.

One of our major projects is to understand the role of human innate proteins, the APOBEC3s, in cancer development. We are also studying lentiviruses such as HIV-1, HIV-2, and SIVmac239 to determine mechanisms to counteract the APOBEC3s, and thwart cancer.
